About Harriet Johnson

Voice Specialist & Choral Conductor

Born in Staffordshire, Harriet was brought up in a highly musical family thus fuelling her great passion for music. She began singing at an early age and has sung with many choirs over the years. It is through her choral training that she developed as a concert singer, performing in choirs and as a soloist at venues all across her country including The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, Symphony Hall and National Indoor Arena.

When Harriet began directing she took a special interest in anatomy and physiology of the voice and over the last 15 years has spent considerable time continuing her professional development in this area. In 2018 she returned to university full time to study Speech and Language Therapy to deepen her clinical knowledge of voice and voice disorders. Harriet is interested in the role that music can play in the wider Speech and Language profession and has also completed training with ‘Sing to Beat Parkinson’s’. Harriet is also a Vocal Health First Aider.
